All the security training in the world is not going to protect your PC if you are unlucky. Mistakenly click on the wrong link or find yourself in the path of a clever hacker, and you will be infected. It’s no longer a matter of if, but rather when.

You can't run away from your Id forever.

So what can you do?

The conventional wisdom as told to your Super Ego relies upon the following:

  • End User Training
  • Defense in Depth, i.e., firewall, antivirus, etc.
  • Backups

But the hackers are always one step ahead of the security measures and the security software. People make mistakes and old fashioned backups don’t always work. Talk about a blow to your Ego.

So take the end user out of the equation. You're going to get hit. Accept that fact and that all end point devices, phones, tablets, laptops, PC's are not to be trusted. You can't protect them with certainty.

Or as Freud said, "If you can't do it, give up!"

Advans uses virtual desktops as a component in creating highly secure IT infrastructures with our two software products:

  • ComputerVault Small to Mid-Sized Businesses
  • ComputerVault Desktop Infrastructure Large Enterprises

Both products use virtual desktops because they isolate corporate data from ransomware and other malware. Since all endpoints hostile, don’t store any corporate data or files on them because it is no longer a matter of if but rather when they will be infected with malware.

By using sophisticated thin and fat clients, even if the end user gets a malware infection, it is of no consequence. Recovery is fast and painless. No lost productivity and no ransom to pay. And the virtual desktops are accessible to the users both in the office LAN and outside the office in the WAN.

With Advans it is now possible to protect against the weakest link – human behavior.

While cost and performance issues have prevented the wide spread adoption of VDI in the past, Advans has solved the performance issues while delivering virtual desktops at the same cost or less than buying PC’s. Don't wind up on Freud's couch!
